Studio Etiquette

  1. Please arrive 10 minutes early. Check in at the front desk – even if you’ve made an online reservation, as we don’t charge until you walk in the door.
  2. Practice on an empty stomach. Eat lightly in the 2-3 hours prior to yoga practice. Juice or fruit are best, if you need quick energy before class. Please drink plenty of water prior to class.
  3. Purchase a yoga mat. Having your own mat supports your commitment to your practice and gives you your own personal sanctuary.
  4. Remove your shoes before entering the yoga rooms. We have plenty of space to store your shoes and belongings. To preserve the sacred nature and cleanliness of the studio space, we only allow bare feet in our yoga rooms.
  5. Turn off your cell phone- silence is best. Please use this time to disconnect from technology and leave your phone on silent outside the yoga rooms. This is an important respectful gesture to your fellow students and to you.
  6. Choose your first classes wisely. We recommend an Intro Series to get started. Otherwise, please choose Gentle, Basic Vinyasa, Hot Fusion (if you like heat:), or a Yin yoga class.
  7. Always notify the teacher of injuries or medical conditions. This helps us know how to assist you and offer modifications, or to check in with you and give you the space you need to navigate your practice.
  8. Practice often. Practicing 2-3 times per week will show shifts & improvement fairly quickly, however some of us come to the mat everyday! We have a wide variety of ways for you to get in touch with your body and mind. Creating a routine to support your practice and your intention is highly encouraged.
  9. Support Your Practice. Give yourself some personal attention and spend an hour with one of our experienced teachers. They will answer your questions and help cater the practice to fit your needs, giving you tools to take with you into group classes.
